WINDHOEK, 03 November 2014 - An American national charged with the murder of Windhoek resident Andre Heckmair in January 2011, attempted to escape from the Windhoek Central Prison on Sunday. Marcus Kevin Tomas allegedly tried to jump over the barbed wire fence surrounding the prison on Sunday night, but landed on top of it instead.
