Rabbi David Yosef, 67, was on Sunday elected the Grand Sephardic Rabbi of Israel, but the vote for his Ashkenazy counterpart will go to a second round. Yosef succeeds his own brother Yitzhak, who himself took over from their father, Ovadia, the founder and spiritual leader of ultra-Orthodox Shas political party.
