Crime escalates in Dordabis due to unemployment, poverty

WINDHOEK, 09 OCT (NAMPA) – The Dordabis community is facing a crime crisis, with the Namibian Police Force (Nam Pol) arresting five to six individuals weekly due to drug smuggling and theft of water pumps, amongst other crimes.
Station commander Elvis Kavari told Nampa the most prevalent crimes at the settlement, situated 87 kilometres from Windhoek, include drug smuggling, illegal hunting, Gender Based Violence (GBV) and theft of water pipes.
