Infineon unveils new chip to make payment cards greener

Munich (dpa) - German semiconductor manufacturer Infineon has launched an innovative module aimed at making hundreds of millions contactless payment cards more environmentally friendly. The new technology is expected to reduce the carbon dioxide footprint associated with card production, according to Infineon, the global market leader for the chips used in cards.
