IMF lowers forecast for German economic growth

Washington (dpa) - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has lowered its forecast for economic growth in Germany, predicting a rise in the coming year of just 0.8%. That is 0.5 percentage points lower than the IMF's previous forecast released in July. Germany's projected growth would be tied with Italy for the weakest among the G7 industrialized democracies.
