Pechstein to miss German championships amid lawsuit against ISU

Berlin (dpa) - Speed skater Claudia Pechstein said she will not compete at the German championships this weekend due to her ongoing lawsuit against the International Skating Union (ISU). "My aim is always to compete in the best possible condition. This is currently not possible for several reasons," the five-time Olympic champion said in a statement on Friday.
