German development bank posts higher profits on lower loans

Frankfurt (dpa) - Germany's state-owned KfW development bank has handed out considerably fewer new loans over the first nine months of the year than it did in the same period in 2023, the bank reported in Frankfurt on Thursday. The KfW distributed ?53.9 billion ($58.0 billion) between January and September, compared with ?80.8 billion last year.
