Syria releases jailed Jordanian journalist

AMMAN, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Monday the release of Jordanian journalist Umair al-Ghuraibeh, who had been detained in Syria since 2019, and his safe return to the kingdom. Spokesperson for the ministry Sufian Qudah said that the Syrian authorities released al-Ghuraibeh under a special presidential pardon issued by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, according to a statement.
