U.S. stocks close lower before Thanksgiving

NEW YORK, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended lower on Wednesday, as fresh economic data cast doubt on inflation which is making significant progress toward the Federal Reserve's 2 percent target in October. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 138.25 points, or 0.31 percent, to 44,722.06. The S&P 500 sank 22.89 points, or 0.38 percent, to 5,998.74.
