Skiing world champion Schmid out for season with another knee injury

Munich (dpa) - German alpine skiing world champion Alexander Schmid has suffered another severe knee injury and is out for the season, the national federation DSV said on Friday. The DSV said that Schmid ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament and damaged the meniscus in his left knee in a training crash. The statement said that he underwent surgery on Thursday.
