German firefighters free duck stuck in frozen lake

Bremen, Germany (dpa) - Germany's fire brigade was called out on an unusual rescue mission after a duck got stuck in a frozen lake in the northern city of Braunschweig, a spokesman said on Sunday. Firefighters managed to free the bird and handed it over to animal protection officials who had assisted in the operation, he said.
