Leading German institute predicts inflation to level off at 2.5%

Munich (dpa) - A leading German economic institute on Thursday said inflation could hover around 2.5% in the coming months, with companies planning to raise prices. Timo Wollmershäuser, head of forecasts at the Munich-based ifo Institute, said "the inflation rate is expected to level off at around 2.5%," well above the 2% target set by the European Central Bank.
