Tokyo consumer inflation quickens to 2.5 pct in January

TOKYO, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- The consumer price index (CPI) for Tokyo's 23 wards, excluding fresh food, rose 2.5 percent in January from a year earlier, marking the third consecutive month of accelerating inflation, official data showed Friday.
