German stocks rise slightly on hopes for post-election recovery

Frankfurt (dpa) - Germany's DAX stock market index rose slightly after the start of trading on Monday morning, hours after voters delivered the centre-right CDU/CSU bloc a clear victory in the German election. The leading German stock index gained 0.5% to 22,400 points shortly after opening, although some of the gains faded in morning trading.
