British prime minister extends pub opening hours for VE Day

London (PA Media/dpa) - British pubs will be able to stay open later to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day. The British prime minister has ordered that pubs and bars that usually close at 11 pm (2200 GMT) be able to keep serving for an extra two hours on Thursday, May 8, to celebrate.
