Gava community members granted bail at Kahenge

NKURENKURU, 06 NOV, (NAMPA)- The Kahenge Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday granted bail of N.dollars 3000 each to 12 people and released two on warning after they were arrested on Sunday at Gava village in the Kavango West Region.
The group reportedly put down poles from a portion land in their village which they claimed was illegally fenced off.
They were charged with malicious damage to property and assault through threatening and their case was postponed to 08 April 2025.
Meanwhile, the community of Gava village held a peaceful demonstration at Kahenge police station on Tuesday demanding the release of the 14 suspects.
