BEIJING, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 2.57 percent to 3,470.66 points. The Shenzhen Component Index closed 2.44 percent higher at 11,235.92 points. The combined turnover of the two markets exceeded 2.5 trillion yuan (about 348.87 billion U.S. dollars), down from the 2.56 trillion yuan recorded on the previous trading day.
