Germany's SPD to elect new leadership in June after election defeat

Berlin (dpa) - After its historic election defeat, Germany's Social Democratic Party (SPD) plans to elect its new leadership at a party conference in June, six months earlier than planned. In addition to the party leadership and the election result, the party conference will focus on a "roadmap for the strategic, programmatic and organizational positioning of the SPD for the 2029 federal election," the party said of the decision, Berlin's Tagess......
