Official results confirm SPD's easy win in Hamburg state election

Hamburg (dpa) - Germany's Social Democrats (SPD) easily won a regional election in the city-state of Hamburg at the weekend, with official results released on Monday giving the centre-left party of outgoing Chancellor Olaf Scholz 33.5% of the vote. Despite coming out on top, it was not all good news for the SPD. Their share of the vote slipped from 39.2% in the last election in 2020.
