Demand for raw materials drops sharply in Germany

Hanover, Germany (dpa) - Given the poor state of the German economy, the demand for raw materials in the country's industries has significantly declined, a report released on Thursday showed. Domestic production of mineral resources was at a historically low level last year, amounting to 534 million tons, according to a report by the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR).
