Biathlon ruling body announces new season opening event in Munich

Berlin (dpa) - The biathlon ruling body IBU will stage a new World Cup season opening event in Munich, it said in a statement on Wednesday. Next season will begin with the two-day Loop One Festival on October 18-19 at the Olympic Park. "The event will blend high-performance sport with a vibrant festival atmosphere to captivate both avid fans and newcomers to the sport," the IBU said.
